📄️ Welcome
Histat Analytics is an easy to use, open source, lightweight and privacy-friendly alternative to Google Analytics. Histat is trusted by thousands of people to deliver their website and business insights. We're completely independent, self-funded and bootstrapped.
📄️ Register for an account
To use Histat Analytics, you need to register an account. To explore the product, we offer free usage permanently.
📄️ Add your website details
Once you have an account, you can enter the domain name of the website you want to track. Please, remove https and www from the URL, just keep the hostname. For example, if your site is https://www.yourdomain.com then the part to enter in the "Domain" field is yourdomain.com.
📄️ Enable optional measurements
We're proud to have one of the most lightweight JavaScript snippets in the analytics industry.
📄️ Add the snippet to your website
To integrate your website with Histat Analytics, you need to insert a Histat tracking snippet into the header section of your site. Place the snippet within the … tags.
📄️ Installation guides
Installing Histat on a website can be a slightly different process depending on what tools you're using to manage your site.
📄️ Change your domain name
Please follow these steps if you have changed the domain name of your site and would like your new domain name to be displayed in your Plausible dashboard. You won't lose any of your historical stats in this process.
📄️ Increase conversions using funnel analysis
You can follow the visitor journey from a landing page to a conversion with our multi-step funnel analysis. The insights from the marketing funnel allow you to uncover possible issues, optimize your site and increase the conversion rate.
📄️ Change your reporting timezone
Within the "General" section of your website settings you can change the timezone for your reports in the "Site timezone" field. This sets the day boundary of your reports regardless of where your traffic is coming from.
📄️ Invite team members, assign roles and remove users
Histat allows you to invite team members to view stats and manage sites that you have added to your Histat account.
📄️ Open up your website stats to the public
Within the "Visibility" section of your website settings you can choose to be transparent and make your website stats public so anyone with your stats dashboard link can view them.
📄️ Share your stats with a private and secure link
Shared links are useful for specific use cases such as if you want to share your stats with (potential) partners or advertisers. Or if you're an agency or working as a freelancer and want to share the stats with your clients. You can also use shared links to embed the unbranded Histat dashboard directly into your site or product.
📄️ Embed the dashboard without our branding into your user interface
You can embed your Histat stats dashboard into any other website using an iFrame. This is useful in case you want to showcase your stats on your own website or if you want to offer Histat-powered web analytics dashboard (without our branding) directly in your user interface.
📄️ Introduction to goal conversions and behavior analytics
Goals allow you to track actions that you want your visitors to take on your site. Actions such as signing up to a newsletter, clicking on a "Download" button, registering for a trial account, purchasing a product, clicking on an external link, downloading a file or completing a checkout form of an ecommerce store.
📄️ Search Console integration
In 2012, Google stopped including search terms in the Referer header when people click on a Google search. They only send Google as the referrer source instead. This means that Histat can't automatically access search terms that lead users to your site.
📄️ Import stats from Google Analytics
Histat Analytics allows you to import your historical stats from Google Analytics 4 (GA4). You can import multiple Google Analytics properties into the same Histat dashboard without having any gaps in the data and without any double-counting. You can also segment the imported data and export it using our regular exporting methods (CSV and stats API).
📄️ Exclude internal traffic from your analytics
By default, Histat Analytics tracks every visitor to your website. You might not want your office traffic to be counted. Or when you're working on your site, you might not want to record your own visits and page views
📄️ Top countries, regions and cities
Your "Locations" report shows where in the world your visitors are coming from. You can click the "Details" button to see the full list ranked by the number of visitors. There you can also see the percentage of your total traffic the individual location stands for. Click on any such metric heading to sort and arrange your data in ascending or descending order.
📄️ Company Introduction: Histat
Histat is a cutting-edge technology firm specializing in the development of advanced analytics platforms, akin to Google Analytics. We pride ourselves on delivering robust, scalable, and highly efficient solutions that empower businesses to gain deep insights into their data and make informed decisions.
📄️ What makes Histat a great Google Analytics alternative
Many site owners have the habit of installing the Google Analytics tracking script on their sites as one of the first actions they take after the launch.
📄️ Custom events
Custom events allow you to measure button clicks, purchases, subscription signups, form completions and pretty much any other action that you wish your visitors to take.
📄️ Introduction to custom properties
You can attach custom properties (also known as custom dimensions in Google Analytics) when sending pageviews or custom events to Histat in order to create custom metrics. Custom properties allow you to collect and analyze metrics that we don't track automatically.
📄️ Ecommerce revenue and attribution tracking
You can assign dynamic monetary values to custom events to track revenue attribution. Revenue attribution helps you determine which marketing campaigns and landing pages result in the most revenue for your business or ecommerce store.

Within the "Email reports" section of your website settings you can decide to enable weekly (every Monday) and/or monthly (every 1st day of the month) reports to be sent directly through email.

📄️ Hashed page paths
If your site is using page paths with a # in the URL, you can use our "Hashed page paths" tracking to see the different pages your visitors have viewed.
📄️ Histat: Lightweight web analytics tool that doesn't slow down your site
